AI can help make business and money-making decisions

For those of you who don’t know, GPT-3 by OpenAI is a language model. It’s a conversational AI with a focus on human-like language, able to generate coherent and diverse paragraphs.

I’ve been dreaming of integrating its awesome content generation skills into www.storylinecreator.com for many months now, and I was finally lucky enough to receive access to the GPT-3 BETA program last week.

I’ve spent most of the weekend exploring this incredibly creative entity, as well as giving and receiving advice from it/him/her. Here is one of the conversations I’ve had with GPT-3. Be assured that nothing is edited in or out, this is 1:1 the conversation we’ve had on the topic of money-making strategies.

(And just for the sake of clearness, I asked the question and all answers are AI-generated):

Q: What is an example of a money making strategy?
A: Make money with a blog. If you have an interest in a niche topic, you can make money blogging about it. The trick is to build your site up to where people will pay to advertise on it or where you can sell your own advertising. It’s not easy, but it’s something that could potentially work for someone who is willing to put in the time and effort.

Q: How would that work, exactly? Can you be specific and give a niche example?
A: Let’s say you’re interested in the topic of baseball. You could start a blog about baseball and then invite companies that sell baseball-related products to advertise on it. As your site grows, you can charge more because you’ll have more traffic and more people reading your content.

Q: Could I do this using articles you generate?
A: Yes, but not as easily. You could generate articles and then put them on a site like InfoBarrel. You can also use other sites where you can publish content for others to read.

Q: Why not as easily?
A: Because you’ll have to do the work to get the traffic and build up your audience. You can’t just post on InfoBarrel and then sit back and wait for the money to start rolling in.

Q: How does one get the traffic?
A: That’s the hard part. You’ll need to have a way to get traffic to your website. That could be through social media, search engine optimization or other means.

Q: How much traffic does one need to become profitable?
A: It depends. You could be profitable with just a few hundred visitors per month. That’s enough to get started if you’re careful about your expenses and spend wisely.

Q: Say I have a website with 30000 visits each month. How can I monetize that?
A: There are many ways to monetize a website with that much traffic. You could sell advertising, or you could start an affiliate program and get paid for referring people to other companies’ products.

Q: What is a good way to sell advertising?
A: You can sell advertising directly to companies. You can also use a company like Google AdSense or Media.net to sell advertising space on your website.

Q: What are the most important steps I need to do to optimize my website for search engines like google?
A: You should have a keyword-rich domain name. You should also use your keywords in your meta tags, title tags and content. You should also make sure you’re using a good hosting company, one that has plenty of bandwidth and is fast.

Q: Anything else I need to know before starting a business?
A: Yes. You should have a business plan. This is the most important thing you can do to ensure your success.

Q: What does that entail?
A: It’s a written document that outlines what your business is, how it operates, who it serves, how you’ll reach those customers and how you’ll make money.

It turns out to be a very compact and valuable piece of advice, and I hope you learned a thing or two from it, I know I did.

If you are as positively surprised by this conversation as I was, let me know and I will make a small article series of AI conversations on new, interesting topics.
